Cabins Cabins at Wapsi Environmental Center
  • One bedroom with queen size mattress and twin size bunk beds with storage, fold-out queen-size sofa bed in main room - sleeps 6. ADA accessible, Modern bathroom with shower.
  • Full Kitchen - stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, sink, dishwasher, table & 6 chairs with place settings, coffee pot, toaster, pots, pans, and cooking utensils.
  • Gas heat & air conditioning, ceiling fans, bathroom exhaust fan, on-demand water heater. Covered porch, picnic table, fire ring and charcoal grill. Only 2 vehicles permitted to park at cabin, others must use the park's visitor lot.
  • Wireless Internet Access available, Firewood is supplied, Recycling bins provided
Canoeing & Kayaking Canoeing & Kayaking at Wapsi Environmental Center
A new low impact Iowa DNR Water Trail access is planned along the River Trail at the Wapsi Center and will allow for canoe/kayak access to the Wapsicpinicon River. The Bends and Beaches Trail allows for canoe floats while programs are offered by staff and scheduling is determined by group need and abilities.
Education Education at Wapsi Environmental Center
The primary purpose of the Wapsi River Center is to provide environmental education. Programs for the public, schools and other groups are being held regularly at the Center. Various natural history and live animal displays are used for a variety of programming needs. Some of the exhibits in the Eco Center include displays on prairies, woodlands, fish and wildlife, reptiles and amphibians, and a touch table.

Trails & Hiking Trails & Hiking at Wapsi Environmental Center
The Wapsi River Center has been named in the Iowa Wildlife Viewing Guide as one of 77 areas in Iowa for premium wildlife viewing. The natural resources available at the Wapsi Environmental Education Center will provide numerous options for education and enjoyment. Approximately 30 acres of bottomland forest are located along the Wapsipinicon River, and there are 120 acres of upland timber, a mixture of predominately oak and hickory trees.
Winter Activities Winter Activities at Wapsi Environmental Center
The Center boasts several miles of scenic trails and activities include: hiking, nature studying, bird watching, photography, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing.
